Description:
On February 16th, 2019, Bujumbura Local Council organized an activity to clean Tanganyika Lake. The event continued for 10 hours and mobilized a group of over 500 volunteers. This initiative has received media attention from local radio and television stations that were fascinated by the work done by youth activists. The event resulted in recommendations to protect climate and promote effective practices.
By the end of the event, the team has collected over 16,500 plastic pieces.
